Developmental Editing
Most writers need a developmental editor at one time or another. An objective or ‘fresh’ eye will help with the evolution of a piece of writing.
Whether you seek advice on a long work such as a novel or memoir, or an academic or personal essay, I am that objective eye, there to help you articulate and deliver your message to your readers.
In Fiction and Memoir writing, developmental editing focuses on improving big picture story elements. Dramatic arcs, character arcs, pacing, tone, dialogue, and theme are all things covered by a developmental editor. In Nonfiction, including Personal Essay writing, developmental editing helps clarify the purpose and message of a subject to ensure it is communicated articulately to the intended audience.
